The largest
purchase a person makes is their home. Home buying is also the
most emotional of all purchases. With
these facts in mind, Marilyn Hartley began her real estate
career in 1978, selling new homes in Southeast Charlotte,
and sold over 200 homes in two years. In 1980, she joined
Killian-Krug Associates, a local condominium conversion company,
and sold over 1,000 Condos in the Charlotte area. In
1983, she saw the need for a small, personalized real estate
company specializing in the sale of homes in prestigious neighborhoods
in South Charlotte, and opened the doors of Marilyn Hartley
Realty. Though small in numbers of agents, volume in sales
has been incredible, and continues to grow year after year.
The core of sales has been in the Myers Park, Eastover, Dilworth
and other fine South Charlotte areas. Marilyn, the owner/broker
of Marilyn Hartley Realty, averages sales in the range of
$20,000,000 to $25,000,000 a year, and has sold well over
$100,000,000 in homes in the Myers Park area alone. She is
a strong negotiator and sincerely tries to find not only the
perfect home for your family's needs, but also a home that
will be a strong investment for your future.
Additional
Information:
In 2007, Charlotte magazine
formed a partnership with Crescendo Business Services,
an independent research firm, to find out which real estate
agents have most consistently "wowed" their clients.
The Selection Process
This past June, Crescendo mailed nearly
31,000 nomination ballots to Charlotte area residents who had
recently purchased homes. An additional 250 ballots were sent
to mortgage and title companies, who are often best able to
judge a real estate agent's technical skills and knowledge.
On the ballots, recipients were asked to nominate only
real estate agents whom they knew through personal experience.
They were asked to evaluate them based upon nine criteria: Customer
Service, Communication, Finding the right
Home, Integrity, Negotiation,
Marketing the Home, Market Knowledge,
Closing Preparation and Overall Satisfaction.
Only original ballots --no copies-- returned in their
specially designed envelopes were accepted as valid. By July,
stacks of ballots had arrived and Crescendo began carefully
scoring and screening each nominee with the North Carolina and
South Carolina State Real Estate Commissions' databases to
make certain that licenses were up to date and that no
disciplinary actions were pending.
Then, before finalizing the list, nominated real estate
agents were reviewed by a blue-ribbon panel of local
industry experts. The panel consisted of realty company
executives, professional and trade association officers and
others directly involved in housing-related businesses.
Although panelists' comments were incorporated into the final
score, safeguards were built into the review process to reduce
the ability of panel members to influence the composition for
the final list on the basis of company affiliation.
Best in Client Satisfaction
The resulting list of Five Star Real
Estate Agents is an elite group, representing less
than 5 percent of licensed
agents in the Charlotte area. We are pleased to announce that
Marilyn Hartley along with
3 of her agents/brokers, received
this distinctive acknowledgement.
